Executive Director
Richard Paul is an esteemed leader in youth and community intervention, serving as the Executive Director and Founder of So Rich In Community. With a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Psychology, Richard brings both academic expertise and lived experience to his work. Having navigated the realities of street involvement and incarceration, he possesses a unique and invaluable perspective that allows him to connect deeply with the youth he serves.
Through mentorship, workshops, one-on-one sessions, and unorthodox connection-building, Richard is dedicated to guiding young individuals toward positive transformation. A core component of his mission is to introduce youth to inspiring role models within their communities, fostering relationships that encourage personal growth and development. His work centers on violence prevention, community empowerment, and bridging generational gaps—ensuring that young people see their own potential beyond their circumstances.
Richard's dedication has been widely recognized. He has received the NYS Commendation Award from Senator Kevin Thomas at the District 6 Heroes of Long Island Ceremony for his outstanding contributions to youth and families across Long Island. Additionally, he has been honored by the New York State Assembly for his work with youth and families, received the Community Organizer Award from Cornell University, and is being recognized by the Upsilon Mu Alumni Foundation for his impact on at-risk youth.
A firm believer in investing mentally, emotionally, and socially in others, Richard is committed to utilizing his experiences to build stronger communities and create lasting change. Under his leadership, So Rich In Community is on a path to continue empowering individuals with the understanding that wealth is not just financial—it is found in love, family, ambition, history, and, most importantly, community.
